Job Title: Director of Family Engagement and Data Department: Central FLSA Status: Exempt Reporting Relationship: Chief of Schools LEGACY EARLY COLLEGE OVERVIEW Legacy Early College is a K4-12 public charter school that originated through the vision of businessman William Brown in 2009, with an unwavering focus on "To and Through College" at every grade level. Legacy's model combines academics, nutrition, physical fitness, and mental health. In addition to our college-driven academic standards, meals are made on-site, scholars participate in PE every day, and Social-Emotional Literacy is integrated into the culture and curriculum. POSITION OVERVIEW The Director of Family Engagement and Data leads the school's efforts to cultivate meaningful family partnerships while overseeing student data systems that support enrollment, attendance, compliance, and academic success. This individual uses data to inform decision-making, improve family communication, increase student retention, and ensure accurate reporting to school leaders and state agencies. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Family Engagement Develop and implement the school's family engagement strategy. Plan recruitment events and family engagement opportunities. Build positive relationships with current and prospective families. Help coordinate family engagement through community events, social media, and the school's communication platforms. Manage parent surveys and analyze feedback to improve family experience. Support conflict resolution between families and the school when appropriate. Coordinate family tours, orientation, and onboarding for new students. Develop initiatives that improve student attendance and family participation. Enrollment and Recruitment Oversee student recruitment efforts. Manage enrollment, registration, waitlists, and student records. Coordinate school tours and enrollment events. Monitor enrollment targets and retention goals. Analyze enrollment trends and recommend and execute recruitment strategies. Data Management Ensure the accuracy of enrollment, retention, attendance and academic data. Prepare state and federal reporting requirements. Create dashboards and reports for school leadership. Monitor key performance indicators, including: Enrollment Attendance Chronic absenteeism Student mobility Family engagement Student retention Academic performance Conduct regular data audits to ensure compliance. Attendance and Student Success Monitor attendance trends. Identify students at risk for chronic absenteeism. Track intervention effectiveness using data. Leadership Collaborate with school principals and leadership team on school improvement planning. Train staff on student information systems and data procedures. Lead staff data analysis to determine necessary instructional supports. Develop policies related to enrollment, records management, and family engagement. Direct, manage, and evaluate enrollment staff, registrars, and community engagement personnel, establishing clear performance expectations and professional growth pathways. Performance Metrics The Director of Family Engagement and Data will be evaluated on: Area Metric Enrollment 90% enrollment maintained Student Retention 96% returning students Family Engagement 90% participation in major family events Data Accuracy 95% on-time enrollment submissions with minimal errors Communication Family satisfaction ratings improve annually by 5% Qualifications ? Data analysis and reporting ? Student Information Systems (PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, etc.) ? Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets ? Project management ? Customer service and relationship building ? Public speaking and presentation skills ? Event planning ? Strong written and verbal communication ? Knowledge of student privacy laws (e.g., FERPA) ? Problem-solving and collaboration Why this role is valuable Combining family engagement with data allows one leader to connect relationships with results. Rather than treating family engagement as a series of events, the director uses data to identify which families need additional support, monitors whether outreach improves attendance and retention, and helps the school make informed decisions about enrollment and student academic success. Work Schedule This position operates on the 12-month schedule based on the Legacy Early College centralized calendar.
