Process Engineers at Kimberly-Clark initiate design, develop optimize and problem solve manufacturing processes in a manner that meets safety, quality, and operational performance expectations. The Process Engineer for this role will provide leadership and creativity in design, development, optimization and problem solving for tissue manufacturing processes at our Beech Island Plant. You’ll report to an Engineering Manager and receive direction in the form of general project objectives.
In this role, you will:
Provide Process Engineering support for the Chem Prep assets in Beech Island Plant Wet Wipes team
Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines and provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel
Support daily chemical preparation asset performance to achieve Safety, Quality, OEE, & Cost objectives
Provide functional guidance in the design, development, and optimization of production equipment and processes that meet manufacturing standards
Identify and problem solve technical issues and provide necessary solutions to eliminate root cause, including leading group Problem Solving sessions
Lead or support capital or major maintenance projects from conception through commercialization
Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management
Assist in the development of others within the area of expertise

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, or Pulp & Paper Science from an accredited college or university
1+ years of experience in an engineering role, which may include co-op or internship experience
Flexibility to work in a manufacturing environment with a 24/7 operation
Ability to travel up to 15%
Ability to perform in cross-functional teams to achieve project results within required timeframes
Strong self-motivation to move fast and achieve results
High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently
Good written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively
Strong experience using manufacturing analysis tools, such as: statistical process control design of experiments, process capability studies, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing
Preferred:
Specific, in-depth technical knowledge and expertise in tissue manufacturing or converting processes
Experience working with external technical service providers
Evidence of continuing self-development
Familiarity with machine installations and startups
