Your Job Georgia-Pacific's Darlington, SC Dixie® facility is in search of contribution motivated individuals for consideration to become our Performance Capability Leader. In this role, you'll apply skills as a principle-based leader to develop operating capabilities and unleash superior performance across four shift production teams. This role will have direct accountability for people performance and be a critical partner for manufacturing engineers and department leaders in aligning people, processes, and production assets to fully support successful shift operations.
Our Performance Capability Leader will report to our Operations Leader and will lead, coach, and mentor a team of 8 shift supervisors who drive performance across 4 -shifts.

What You Will Do- Lead people performance by working with and through others, building operating capabilities, and embracing a bottom-up approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Cultivate an environment where employees are motivated to realize their potential and contribute to the team's long-term success.
- Create clear expectations for performance and behaviors, and uphold accountability for results through coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
- Engage with your team to ensure employees understand, connect to, and embrace the site vision and associated strategies, particularly in the areas of Safety, Quality, Compliance, Reliability, and Performance.
- Partner with Shift Supervision across all four shifts to establish Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations, maintain operational discipline, and achieve results through an ownership-based work system.
- Hire, develop, and retaining contribution-motivated employees with diverse aptitudes.
- Own the overall talent position for converting operations and optimize staffing within an ownership-based work system.
- Ensure departmental training priorities are clear and own the implementation of technician skill development processes and strategies within the converting team.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) - Demonstrated success leading people within a fast-paced manufacturing operation, including experience in a formal supervisory capacity.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and guiding people to high levels of skill and performance.
- Experience with safe working practices, standard operating procedures, and continuous improvement (RCA's, Lean Manufacturing, 5-Whys, etc.).
- Effective communication and computer skills needed to create presentations, develop written reports, and access data within an ERP system (i.e., SAP).
What Will Put You Ahead- Previous responsibilities for operator / technician skill development, technical training, and / or learning & development.
- Leadership experience within a Pulp & Paper and/or converting operation.
- A two-year Technical/Vocational/ Associate's degree or higher.
- Experience applying economic thinking and data to drive decision making.
