Elkem Silicones USA Corp is hiring a ACCOUNTING MANAGER in York, SC. This is a full-time position.
Job Summary The Accounting Manager leads the company's accounting function and ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting, accounting operations, and regulatory compliance activities. This role provides direct leadership and development of accounting personnel, oversees month-end and year-end close processes, maintains effective internal controls, and partners with business leaders to support financial and operational objectives. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Directs and oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collections, general ledger activities, and financial reporting. Ensures bank and balance sheet reconciliations, tax filings, and month end close activities are completed on schedule with appropriate documentation. Leads the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial statements and supporting documentation. Completes accurate bank and balance sheet reconciliations. Establishes, maintains, and monitors internal accounting controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare general ledger entries and document business transactions. Identifies, recommends, and implements accounting process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls. Provides leadership, coaching, performance management, and development of accounting personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Prepares and submits sales & use tax filings; collects data and collaborates with tax consultants. Partners with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, and external advisors to support business initiatives and resolve complex financial and accounting matters. Provides audit support, prepares documentation, responds to auditors, and resolves audit findings. Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent. 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong working knowledge of US GAAP. Demonstrated experience leading accounting operations and supervising accounting teams. Strong knowledge of internal controls, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements. Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with SAP. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; proven experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and tax filings. Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to coach, develop, and manage accounting team. Detail oriented, highly organized, able to prioritize multiple deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively. Requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and operate effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information with integrity. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate in a diverse team environment. Preferred Qualifications SAP experience. Experience with IFRS reporting requirements. Working Conditions Work is primarily performed in an office environment with regular interaction and collaboration across functions, departments, and geographic locations. Requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and operate effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer, including use of a keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment. Involves frequent communication and interaction with employees, managers, customers, and business partners through in-person meetings, telephone, video conferencing, and other communication platforms. May require occasional work in manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, or other operational environments. Compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and required personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory when entering designated areas. May require travel to support business needs. May be required to work outside normal business hours on occasion to support the business.
