We have an immediate opening on the 1 st shift for a Pump Technician Specialist in the South Carolina location.

The hourly pay range is from $23.00 - $27.00 (DOE)

            SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

            As the Pump Technician Specialist, you will be responsible for assembling a variety of routine pump assemblies and sub-assemblies. You will also receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse. Additional responsibilities include preparing and spraying surfaces with protective or decorative coatings such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, epoxy, or lacquer. You will also build crates and shipping containers for finished products and ensure they are properly secured for transportation.

            What You'll Do:
            • Assemble pump units by positioning and fastening parts per blueprints or work instructions, ensuring close tolerances and operating specifications.
            • Perform precision work such as filing, scraping, pressing shafts, fitting keys, aligning, drilling, and reaming for dowel pins.
            • Install and connect auxiliary equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components; cut and fit pipe and tubing as needed.
            • Conduct operational tests and make necessary final adjustments.
            • Read production schedules, work orders, and shipping instructions to determine materials or products to be moved or distributed.
            • Move items between receiving, production, storage, and shipping areas using appropriate equipment.
            • Pick, pack, and fulfill orders by filling requests for materials, tools, or products.
            • Load and unload trucks or freight cars; open and unpack crates, bales, and containers.
            • Clean and prep pumps for painting, including masking surfaces not to be coated.
            • Mix and apply coatings such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, epoxy, or lacquer; maintain and clean coating equipment.
            • Build and secure wooden crates and shipping containers for finished products.
            • Assist with improving shipping processes and coordinating production shipping schedules.
            • Prepare and inspect shipments: assemble, pack, label, and ensure accuracy and completeness using shipping checklists.
            • Complete necessary documentation and inventory transactions.
            • Communicate with team members regarding inventory, materials, and discrepancies.
            • Operate hand tools, air/hydraulic tools, forklifts, and other lifting devices.
            • Follow safety protocols and immediately report unsafe conditions or injuries.

              EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

              Mechanical aptitude and mechanical experience are required.
              • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
