Boise Cascade is seeking qualified Industrial Maintenance Technician. to join our maintenance team. Must have 1-3 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance to Qualify!

  • Follow all plant rules and be coachable.
  • Consistently maintain a clean work environment in the maintenance shop and in the production area where working.
  • Familiarity with metric and standard hand tools and able to safely and properly use to dismantle and reassemble equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify the main components and functions of PLC and drives. Demonstrate the ability to open machine specific code and find where input/outputs in abnormal states when machine will not function.
  • Communication skills.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose problems and repair machines.
  • Familiarity with metric and standard hand tools and able to safely and properly use to dismantle and reassemble equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Drive a Safety culture.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts
  • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Follow all plant rules and be coachable.
  • Consistently maintain a clean work environment in the maintenance shop and in the production area where working.

  • Utilize Maximo computerized maintenance management system.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1-3 years' experience with Lock-Out-Tag out procedures and be willing to wear PPE.
  • Able to walk throughout the plant, climb ladders, twist, and bend routinely.
  • Lift and move up to 75 pounds on a routine basis using proper lifting techniques.
  • Demonstrate the ability to terminate relays.
  • Demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot pushbutton and selector switch circuits.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings, mechanical schematics.
  • Demonstrate the ability to safely use: a drill press and tap a hole, cut metal stock with bandsaw, use pipe cutting and threading equipment-both with hand dies and motorized machine.
  • Demonstrate the ability to: determine if a piece of equipment is grounded.

General Skills

  • Gain Knowledge of general plant layout.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with upper-level technicians and supervision on regular PMs and repairs.
  • Demonstrate procedure for checking fuses, wiring single and three phase low voltage motors.
  • Demonstrate use of drill press, bandsaw, bench grinder, soldering iron and other basic hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrate procedure for safe handling of all tools and machinery throughout the facility.
