We are seeking a
Production Planner to join the Energy Local Adaptation Centre (LAC) at Gepps Cross
(Adelaide). In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring efficient production planning, resource optimisation, and on-time delivery of energy and infrastructure-related outputs that support sustainable and reliable energy solutions.
You will work closely with operations, supply chain, engineering, and external partners to balance demand, capacity, and material flow across production activities.
Key responsibilities Production Planning & Execution
- Develop and maintain production plans based on capacity, demand, and customer priorities
- Monitor execution of production schedules and ensure alignment with plan
- Manage allocation of materials, components, and finished goods
Material & Capacity Optimisation
- Optimise material flow and resource allocation to maximise output efficiency
- Support demand and capacity planning to reduce constraints and bottlenecks
- Manage shortages and coordinate recovery actions
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Analyse production and supply issues and drive resolution with relevant teams
- Identify inefficiencies in workflows and contribute to process improvements
- Reduce lead times and improve overall planning performance
Data, Systems & Reporting
- Use ERP systems (e.g. SAP) to manage planning and inventory data
- Track KPIs related to production, scheduling, and delivery performance
- Provide insights and reporting to support decision-making
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams including operations, engineering, and supply chain
- Coordinate with suppliers and external stakeholders when required
- Ensure clear communication across all planning and execution activities
About you You are analytical, structured, and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on delivery and continuous improvement.
You will bring:
- 2-3 years' experience in production planning or supply chain planning
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field
- Strong experience with ERP systems (SAP highly desirable)
- Understanding of manufacturing environments (electronics/electrical preferred)
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
