Job Summary:

The Buyer/Planner is an essential member of the SCP materials management team contributing to operational success. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for the effective and efficient procurement of precision/intricate machined parts, cable and outside processing operations as well as driving on-time delivery. The Buyer/Planner reports to the Materials Specialist and works closely with the SCP Busines Director, Engineering, Quality, Sales and Accounting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planner must understand manufacturing capacity and allocate as required to meet build plan commitments.
  • Expedites and reschedules open purchase orders to suit production-planning requirement.
  • Create and release manufacturing orders based on bill-of-materials and configuration.
  • Track material shortages for manufacturing orders, kits, sub-assemblies based on bill-of-material or drawings/configuration.
  • Communicate to team and management critical part shortages that will jeopardize ship schedule.
  • Prepares purchase requests for the purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirement
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field Preferred
  • Manufacturing Scheduling/Planning, MRP system experience or an equivalent combination of work-related experience
  • Strong analytical capabilities and able to organize large data sets, analyze trends and make recommendations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment and demonstrated success deploying lean methodologies to improve production efficiency.
  • Experience scheduling and/or planning in a high volume / high mix manufacturing operation is desire.
  • Outstanding leadership skills and good strategic thinking.
  • Effective time & prioritization management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Successful at adapting to and managing change.
  • Familiarity with ISO Quality Assurance programs.


Compensation

Employee Type: Salaried

Salary Minimum: $75, 000

Salary Maximum: $90, 000

Incentive: No
