A brand new opportunity exists for a Recycling and Yard Operator to join our Toowoomba team. In this pivotal role you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of recycling machinery, including shredders, granulators, pelletisers and other material processing equipment, converting multi-stream plastic scrap products into recycled and reusable materials.
This role supports the inbound and outbound flow of recycled materials and performs chainsaw operations to break down large or bulky scrap.
Operate granulation and recycling machinery to convert internal site scrap and external scrap into granulated or pelletised materials for production demand.
Monitor machinery during operation and perform adjustments to achieve optimal performance.
Safely perform chainsaw operations to reduce oversized scrap to manageable lengths for processing.
Manage the inbound and outbound flow of recyclable materials, including loading, unloading, inspection, and sorting, with a focus on Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and load restraints.
Assist in general yard duties including truck loading/unloading and material handling when required.
Maintain clear and accurate records of recycled material inventories, quality, and movement.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace, in line with 5S and site safety expectations.
Current Forklift Licence (essential) and own transport.
You enjoy working indoors and outdoors with hands-on experience operating batch or continuous equipment, power tools (including chainsaws) and overhead gantry cranes.
A strong safety-first mindset, a positive can-do attitude and demonstrated ability to work both autonomously, as well as part of a team.
Someone who’s reliable, proactive, flexible, collaborative and wants to share ideas on continuous improvement.
Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with full working rights.
