About the TeamThe Pacific Hub Execution Centre is a cornerstone of Schneider Electric's delivery capability across Australia and New Zealand. Our team supports the execution of complex energy distribution projects, working across Medium Voltage and Low Voltage portfolios.
The Tendering Engineering team plays a critical role in shaping our commercial success-ensuring that every customer offer is technically sound, commercially competitive, and aligned with our strategic goals. We work closely with Sales, Business Development, and Execution teams to deliver value to our customers and partners, particularly through the contractor channel.
About the RoleThis is a dual-focus leadership role that combines responsibility for managing all tender engineering activities within the Pacific Hub with a strategic focus on supporting the performance of our contractor channel for Medium Voltage solutions.
As the
Tendering Engineering Team Leader, you will lead the development of high-quality, risk-aware technical and commercial submissions, while also partnering with sales leaders to drive order intake, margin growth, and customer satisfaction.
As the team Senior, you will indirectly lead a team professionals and act as a key connector between technical delivery, commercial strategy, and customer engagement.
What Will You Do?Tendering Engineering Leadership: - Manage all tender engineering activities for the Pacific Hub Execution Centre, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant submissions.
- Deliver on the tender team strategy, with a focus on improving win rates and profitability-especially for Type B and Type C projects.
- Ensure all submissions follow Schneider Electric's Customer Project Process (CPP) and Delegation of Authority (DOA) frameworks to mitigate risk.
- Maintain and improve performance indicators such as on-time tendering, gross margin, and handover quality.
- Oversee workload distribution and maintain a comprehensive technical library that reflects current product capabilities.
- Provide feedback to Marketing, Research and Development (R& D), and Engineering on specification gaps and customer needs.
- Drive service attachment to customer offers and ensure seamless project handovers to execution teams.
Contractor Channel Engagement: - Support Power Products in delivering on order commitments through the contractor channel.
- Collaborate with Partner Business Development Managers (BDMs) and State Sales Managers to drive sales cadence, pipeline management, and quoting priorities.
- Monitor and report on sales performance, forecasting, and progress against targets.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and responsiveness to contractor needs.
About YouEducation & Experience: - Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred).
- Proven experience in a technical-commercial role, ideally within the electrical or energy distribution industry.
Technical & Business Skills: - Strong commercial acumen with a focus on financial performance, including cash flow, margin, and Confirmed Customer Orders (CCO).
- Deep understanding of Medium Voltage and Low Voltage distribution applications.
- Familiarity with international standards and product construction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
Leadership & Competencies: - Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to foster collaboration across business units and functions.
- Experience in contract negotiation, quote management, and risk mitigation.
- Cross-cultural awareness and ability to operate in a matrixed, global organisation.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
