EVT is hiring!

Description:

Become part of EVT, and being a part of EVT means believing in changing the game. Why? Because no one wants ordinary. If you're seeking to be part of the kind of wow-factor moments you can help shape, then you've come to the right place.

About EVT:
As market-leading experience creators, we bring to life some of the best-known brands and properties in entertainment, ventures, and travel. Our portfolio includes over 140 entertainment experiences like Event Cinemas and Moonlight Cinemas, 150 award-winning restaurants and bars, and 80+ hotels, including QT, Rydges, Atura, LyLo, Independent Collection by EVT and Thredbo. Our ventures include a ~$2.3B property portfolio and hotel management, just to name a few.

About the Role:

The People & Culture Manager operates as a stand-alone People & Culture partner to Hotels & Resorts across Australia and New Zealand, supporting the achievement of commercial and operational objectives through effective people, culture and capability practices.

Partnering closely with State Managers, Hotel General Managers and leadership teams across a defined portfolio, the role provides strategic insight and practical support aligned to EVT’s People & Culture strategy and operating model. It requires sound judgement and disciplined prioritisation to focus time and effort on the work that delivers the greatest value for the business, its people and its risk profile.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the People & Culture Manager balances strategic influence with hands-on execution, adapting their level of involvement based on context, risk and leader capability. The role is designed to create impact through leverage — building leadership capability so people leadership is owned where it belongs and enabling the People & Culture function to focus on work that drives enterprise-level value.

At its core, this role exists to enable leaders to lead. It calls for the confidence and judgement to know when to step in, when to coach or influence, and when to step back — maintaining high standards, consistency and compliance while empowering leaders to perform at their best.

In addition, the People & Culture Manager contributes to and leads group-wide initiatives aligned to EVT’s Elevate People & Culture strategy, supporting consistency, momentum and continuous improvement across brands and regions — helping EVT create experiences that truly escape the ordinary.

It is a role for a People & Culture leader who values impact over activity, influence over control, and growing capability over doing the work for others.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy, Culture & Engagement

  • Contributing to the development and execution of the Elevate People & Culture strategy, incorporating insights from the hotel portfolio.
  • Ensuring alignment between People & Culture priorities and hotel operational requirements through close partnership with State Managers and Group leaders.
  • Driving initiatives that support a high-performance culture, strong employee engagement and positive employee experiences.
  • Promoting consistency and collaboration across hotel brands, business units and geographies, including leading P& C initiatives across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore where required.
  • Coordinating the deployment, analysis and action planning of employee engagement and experience surveys.
  • Leading and supporting organisational change initiatives, including new hotel openings, restructures and business transformation activities.
  • Providing leaders with timely insights and recommendations on culture, engagement and workforce trends.

Operational Excellence & Governance

  • Embedding and optimising People & Culture systems and processes, including the effective use of Dayforce HRIS.
  • Ensuring people-related practices are efficient, scalable, compliant and aligned with EVT policies and legislative requirements.

  • Supporting the People & Culture components of hotel openings, closures and portfolio changes.
  • Working in partnership with the Elevate team to ensure consistent application of People & Culture frameworks and standards.

Employee Relations, Risk & WHS

  • Providing expert advice and support on employee relations matters, including grievances, performance management and disciplinary processes.
  • Partnering with Employment Relations and Legal to manage and mitigate industrial and employment-related risk.
  • Supporting leaders to meet workplace relations obligations in line with legislation, policy and best practice.
  • Partnering with the WHS team and hotel leadership to ensure WHS governance requirements are met, including quarterly meetings and compliance activities.
  • Contributing to initiatives that support a safe, healthy and psychologically safe working environment.

Talent, Capability & Succession

  • Supporting the attraction, development and retention of talent across the hotel portfolio.
  • Leading the deployment and effective use of EVT’s talent and succession frameworks, including the talent matrix.
  • Partnering with the Organisational Effectiveness team to deliver capability, leadership and development initiatives.
  • Collaborating with Talent Acquisition to ensure recruitment practices align with EVT values and workforce plans.
  • Contributing to the design and continuous improvement of hotel onboarding and induction processes, ensuring compliance and cultural alignment.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a highly operational HR role, within hospitality or multi-site environments.
  • Strong knowledge of employment relations, WHS, and HR systems (Dayforce experience a plus).
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the business.
  • A proactive, solution-focused mindset with the ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement.
  • Employment relationship experience including case and change management
  • Comfort working autonomously while collaborating across states and brands.
