About the Role:

The Year 2 Apprentice Chef plays an active role in daily kitchen operations while continuing to develop technical skills, culinary knowledge, and professional kitchen habits. This role supports the smooth running of the kitchen, contributes to food preparation and service, and upholds high standards of safety, hygiene, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with food preparation and service across kitchen stations
  • Follow guidance from senior chefs and complete tasks efficiently
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
  • Minimise wastage and follow all kitchen procedures
  • Attend required Year 2 training and uphold grooming standards
  • Support a positive, professional kitchen environment
  • Comply with all hotel policies and OH& S guidelines

Skills & Experience:

  • Completion of Year 1 apprenticeship or similar experience
  • Strong basic culinary skills and hygiene knowledge
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen
  • Good teamwork, communication, and attention to detail
  • Professional presentation and a willingness to learn
