Schneider Electric's Buildings business has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to assume the role of Research and Development Laboratory Senior Test Technician. The technician will work as a member of the laboratory team to configure testing fixtures and equipment, execute testing, and generate test data summaries and reports for electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies to deliver a product of the highest quality. The technician will also interface with personnel requesting testing to ensure that all test requirements are understood, and that testing is executed per plan.
What will you do?- Experience testing multiple technologies including hydronic valves (PICV, globe, ball, zone, butterfly), valve and damper electromechanical actuators, digital control systems and sensors.
- Analyze test requests and associated products or materials to be tested to determine appropriate test methodologies.
- Work with requestor to ensure full understanding of desired testing to be conducted and expected lab output.
- Assemble and configure existing or new test fixtures and instrumentation required to facilitate testing of products or materials.
- Execute testing per agreed upon test plans and generate laboratory test reports.
- Assist with the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and ensure compliance to standards.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?- Technical Diploma or Undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or equivalent experience is required.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience is required.
- Must be adaptable, detail oriented, multitasking, team player and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Must be capable of using Microsoft Excel and Word applications.
- Must have the ability to work safely with and around electrical and hydraulic devices.
- Must be able to use hand tools and occasionally lift up to 50lbs
- Fluency in English to communicate with other employee from R& D Hub in USA and Sweden.
- French conversational required
