Under the supervision of the Small Molecule / Synthetics Manufacturing Site Maintenance Lead, the Principal Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing the Reliability Program Strategy while owning the deployment of continuous improvement initiatives and a detailed Asset Management approach through a reliability team. The Principal Reliability Engineer will drive a qualitative and quantitative approach to sustain asset performance by improving the technical availability of our critical assets. They will use their professional and technical experience to resolve simple and complex problems, requiring the exercise of judgment and decision-making. They will also collaborate and influence business partners as a servant leader, while promoting inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, align, communicate, and own the deployment of the site's Strategic Asset Management Plan in alignment with ISO 55000.

- To ensure the asset's high-performance level, guide the maintenance, execution systems, project portfolio, and project management teams on their mid- and long-term goals and objectives.

- Collaborate with large molecule Asset Management (Maintenance Team), Engineering, and Property Services and create a side-wide asset management strategic plan alignment.

- Establish critical metrics, maintenance procedures, and policies to ensure the Centered Maintenance program is measurable, effective, and sustainable.

- Develop, own, and deliver comprehensive maintenance and reliability training to maintenance resources in the Make Asset Management (MAM) organization.

- Provide leadership and mentorship to the Asset Management and Reliability Teams on methods, maintenance, and control of processes/systems; may hire, train, evaluate, and review personnel.

- Build and follow up on maintenance-related Change Controls (CCs) and develop maintenance assessments for all CCs as the need arises.

- Develop, provide operational support, monitor, and troubleshoot the data gathering and visualization of the reliability data.

- Review and create asset job plans for predictive and preventive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and structural, including preventive inspections and maintenance checklists/instructions.

- Build a culture around “Centered Maintenance and Analysis, ” one that is “Predictive” in its nature and approach.

- Participate in or lead collaborations with Maintenance and Operations personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems during Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) exercises or daily complex/recurrent problems.

- Participate in all EH& S initiatives, including investigations and CAPAs, as required.

- Implement proven maintenance approaches to improve equipment efficiency and ensure that capital/expense projects are delivered on time and below budget.

- Generate and/or implement data-driven plans to reduce unplanned stoppages.

- Periodic review of tasks related to production equipment and of recurring issues and develop action plans to mitigate and eliminate them.

- Create, understand, and guard the maintenance strategy.

- Serve as spokesperson during internal and external inspections, if applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

- Minimum of a Bachelor's/University or equivalent degree in Engineering is required

- Certifications preferred in Project Management (PMP / FPX, etc.), Lean/Six Sigma Business Excellence (Black Belt or Green Belt), and/or Asset Management certification

- Registered Engineer (RE) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Required:

- Minimum of six (6) years of work experience

- Engineering experience in Reliability, Automation, Production Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, or related field

- Experience within a regulated manufacturing industry and solid understanding of global GMP regulations

- High sense of urgency and a demonstrated ability to deliver on commitment against timelines

- Strong analytical skills and understanding of Performance Management Processes

- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to clearly articulate issues and build credibility within the Quality and Compliance community quickly

- Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment

Preferred:

- Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)

- Experience with one or more of the following: Risk Assessment & management, Lifecycle asset management, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, reliability modeling, and/or reliability testing & evaluation

- People leadership experience (direct or indirect reports)

OTHER:

- Requires proficiency in English (written and verbal) to communicate effectively and professionally; proficiency in Spanish is helpful

- Requires ability travel up to 10% domestically

- Requires ability to work onsite full-time and flexibility to support after-hours, alternate shifts, or weekend coverage as needed
