We are searching for the best talent for the Packaging Engineer Specialist located in Gurabo, Puerto Rico!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary, secondary & tertiary packaging engineering support for new product launches, technical transfers and lifecycle management related activities / projects.

  • Provide day-to-day primary, Secondary and Distribution (Tertiary) Packaging material support to the supply chain.

  • Develop and implement packaging line trials, prepare correspondent documentation and implement packaging changes meeting target due dates.

  • Build and/or revise Bill of Materials, artworks, packaging drawings, pallet configuration drawings, shipper labels, etc, to improve packaging efficiency and quality.

  • Build and complete packaging components Change Requests.

  • Complete packaging distribution studies that impact platforms products.

  • Partner with multi-functional team (Pack sites, Regulatory Affairs, Local Operating Companies, Commercial and Product Artwork) to incorporate technical requirements and labeling content, for creation of artwork in ArcTiC system.

  • Work with Master Data and Quality System to complete packaging changes tasks.

  • Collaborate with internal and external functional areas to ensure continuous flow of activities and process reliability for Janssen, LLC packaging processes.

  • Develops capital and expense forecasts for assigned packaging projects and ensures outputs enforce to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum Bachelor Degree required; a (BS) in Engineering, Chemistry, and Pharmacy or related field preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • A minimum 3 years of Manufacturing and/or Packaging operations knowledge.

  • Excellent technical writing skills.

  • Basic Project Management Skills.

  • Quality Systems (Documentation management system and change control system).

  • Experience in Packaging Validation, Manufacturing Science and Packaging Technology services, Validations, or related technical support area in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry.

  • Experience with packaging of solid dosages and serialization.

  • Experience in an Enterprise Systems such as SAP, ArcTiC, sIDMa and quality systems for the investigation and change controls

  • CGMP environment

  • Experience is required in working with multi-functional and cross-functional project teams, serving different employee populations and interpersonal level.

Preferred:

  • Customer service oriented

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Project Management software

Other:

  • Fully bilingual (English and Spanish).

  • Position requires working regular shifts, occasionally will be required to work extended hours.

  • Position requires travel up to approximately 10% of the time.
