Monitors the process by helping to maintain the expected performance and output per line. Performs "Troubleshooting", repairs and completes preventive and corrective maintenance work orders to the manufacturing equipment, facilities and utilities systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs "Troubleshooting" and completes repairs to keep manufacturing equipment running efficiently, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electronic components. Minimizes computer downtime and improves capacity for use.
  • Responsible for completing preventive maintenance (PM) associated with manufacturing equipment within the established times. Coordinates the completion of the WP with the manufacturing area to complete the tasks according to the established itinerary and minimizing "downtime".
  • Actively participates in special projects or assignments, such as: transfer of new products, improvements to manufacturing equipment, "layouts" and testing of new equipment or technologies. Participates in the evaluation to accept or reject manufacturing equipment, based on the specifications of the engineering department.
  • Responsible for the effective use of spare parts and provides support to the spare part system and preventative maintenance, following the procedures established to ensure inventory control of acrylic parts.
  • Identifies parts, equipment or tools that are vital and ensures that they are available following the established processes.
  • Makes an effective "pass down" at the beginning and end of each shift between technicians and supervisors of the respective shifts.
  • Analyzes and recommends modifications and improvements to manufacturing equipment by evaluating the mechanical systems, programming, plans, schematics and data collection, among other variables, improving the capacity and effectiveness of the equipment.
  • Performs preventive and mechanical maintenance and comprehensive repairs on all manufacturing equipment. Troubleshoots moderately complex mechanical and electrical systems. Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment to detect malfunction and diagnoses problems or repairs machines.
  • Uses computerized maintenance management system for work orders and preventive maintenance entries and closures. Maintains maintenance logs, part requisitions, preventive maintenance inspection records and other required maintenance documentation.
  • Is responsible for safe work habits in handling of equipment, tools, chemicals and use of protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum associated degree in mechanical, electrical or electronic technology is required.
  • Minimum of cero to two (2) years’ experience in the industry is required.
  • Knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics and electronics is preferred.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in spanish required and in English preferred.
  • Experience in medical device industrial environment or pharmaceutical preferred.
  • Knowledge in mathematics required.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office) is required.
  • Knowledge in Mechanical design software like Auto Cad or Solid Works preferred
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of SAP or Maximo preferred.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills and professional interactions with coworkers is required.
  • Demonstrates troubleshooting skills required.
