The Engineering Technician will assist in the installation, debugging, troubleshooting, qualification, and training of new equipment. Give supports to Maintenance Engineers and provide solutions to recurrent maintenance and operational problems.
Essential functions and responsibilities: - Assist Process Engineer in installation, qualification, and validation of new and existing equipment.
- Serve as trainer for new and/or modified equipment.
- Optimize and improve manufacturing systems as required (e.g., modifications of programmable logic controller, development of new techniques).
- Craft, design and perform electrical installation of new production equipment in accordance with layout requirements.
- Assist the Process & Maintenance Engineer in providing technical support to the Production area in evaluating process/equipment deficiencies, failures & modifications.
- Customer Oriented Mentality - Provide good customer service to all Business Units, as required
- Support manufacturing in the day-to-day troubleshooting situations and actively participates on Integrated Production Team's (IPT).
- Work with appropriate manufacturing representatives to ensure manufacturing operations and projects receive effective technical support in alignment with EPS.
- Willingness to work all shifts of a three-shift operation.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/facilitator.
Education: - A minimum of Vocational, Certificate, Technical or Associates is required, preferably in Electronics or Electricity. Bachelor's or higher degree is preferred.
Experience and Skills: Required: - A minimum of 6 years of related work experience
- Experience as an Engineering/Maintenance Technician or similar / equivalent position
- Advance digital literacy and use of software application (s) such as: WINDOWS & DMAIC
- Leadership Skills
- Available to work third (3rd) shift, weekends, and any other shift and in other areas, according to business strategies.
- Fully Bilingual, written & oral (Spanish & English)
Preferred: - Previous automation project experience
- PLC and Electromechanical Systems Troubleshooting and Brainstorming experience
- Experience with systems Ladder Logic Programming, Developing & Troubleshooting of (ALLEN BRADLEY, Automation Direct & SIEMENS) PLCs and HMIs
- Knowledge in Vision Systems and Structured Language
Other - Position requires up to 10% Travel - US Domestic and International
