An Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for ensuring the efficient daily operation of the Accounts Payable function in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

What will I be doing?
As an Accounts Payable Accountant, you would be responsible for ensuring the efficient daily operation of the Accounts Payable function in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Receives, processes, verifies, and reconciles invoices to complete payments and control expenses.
• Coordinate receiving purchase orders and invoices for proper coding and approval signature
• Ensure all accounts are current, reconcile vendor statements and maintain record of payments
• Complete month-end responsibilities
• Conduct research and prepare reports, as needed
• Calculates sales taxes and reports them on paid invoices.
• Keeps all information confidential, to protect the organization's value
• Processed work is reconciled by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Verifies and posts account transactions to accounting ledgers.
• Reconciles monthly statements and related transactions to verify vendor accounts.
• Analyzes invoice/expense reports and records entries to charge expenses to accounts and cost centres.
• Monitors discount opportunities, verifies federal identification numbers, schedules and prepares checks, and resolves purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
• Ensures that credit for outstanding memos is received.
• Stop payments and purchase order amendments are issued.
