Description:

CooperVision (CVI) is recruiting a Quality Improver. This position evaluates and takes preventive and corrective actions on quality matters for existing packaging processes through a structured approach. The position is based in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, and works onsite.

Main Duties and Responsibilities include:

Data Analysis & Performance Review
  • Gather and analyze quality and process performance data (trending) to recommend improvements
  • Organize and evaluate data using tools (e.g., Excel) to present actionable insights
  • Develop and maintain control charts for product quality data

Quality Improvement & Problem Solving
  • Evaluate quality issues and facilitate problem-solving using Root Cause Analysis tools.
  • Recommend and implement changes or controls to eliminate defects and enhance process flow.

Process & Documentation Management
  • Create and revise SOPs, work instructions, and documentation (e.g., CAPA, Internal Audit).
  • Maintain and monitor quality KPIs (e.g., NCRs, Complaints, First Pass) to ensure compliance and drive improvement.
  • Participate in risk assessments for process changes, new products, or equipment updates.

Compliance & Auditing
  • Support investigations for Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Complaints, and CAPA.
  • Review Device History Records (DHR) and conduct related process audits.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits.

Collaboration & Leadership
  • Assist Process Improvers with product line development, validations, root cause investigations, and metric reporting.
  • Lead or support quality engineering and process improvement projects independently or under minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience:
  • Experience and exposure to regulated manufacturing / packaging operations preferred.
  • Willingness and availability to travel.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related technical field required, engineering majors preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency using software and applications to measure key performance indicators.
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to establish tools and ways of working to ensure accurate and timely follow-up and on-time deliverables.
  • Able to communicate professionally across a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong technical writing, collaboration and presentation skills
  • Fully Bilingual (English/Spanish)
