If you have strong painting and preparation skills, take pride in your work, communicate well, and want to grow into a leadership role, we can provide training on our systems, processes, and job-site leadership expectations.

You do not need to know every Tierney Painting process on day one. We are looking for proven craftsmanship, reliability, good judgment, and the ability to grow.

  • Perform high-quality residential painting, preparation, finishing, and restoration work.
  • Help oversee daily job-site operations and keep projects moving according to the scope of work.
  • Work independently and alongside painters and laborers.
  • Lead, guide, and support crew members based on your experience and readiness.
  • Review completed work and help ensure finishes meet Tierney Painting quality standards.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding project progress and job-site questions.
  • Organize daily workflows, materials, tools, ladders, and job-site needs.
  • Follow company safety procedures when working with ladders, stages, scaffolding, and elevated work areas.
  • Help maintain a clean, professional, and productive residential job site.
  • Learn and follow Tierney Painting's systems, quality standards, and project processes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong hands-on residential painting experience.
  • Solid understanding of proper surface preparation, masking, sanding, patching, priming, cutting, rolling, and finishing.
  • Ability to produce clean, detailed work without constant supervision.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to organize work and manage multiple job-site priorities.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Comfortable working from ladders and at heights when required.
  • Willingness to learn Tierney Painting's systems and grow professionally.

Lead / Foreman-Level Candidates

You may be an especially strong fit if you have experience:

  • Running residential painting projects or crews.
  • Serving as a foreman, crew lead, or site supervisor.
  • Delegating work and checking quality before project completion.
  • Managing job-site workflow and keeping crews productive.
  • Working directly with homeowners.
  • Training or mentoring less-experienced painters.
  • Handling high-end residential or older-home restoration projects.

You should also apply if you are a strong painter who has not officially held a foreman title yet. Tierney Painting offers an opportunity to develop into greater responsibility as you demonstrate:

  • Consistent craftsmanship.
  • Strong preparation and painting skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Good communication.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to help other crew members succeed.
  • Ownership of quality and job-site organization.
