Phlebotomist

Shifts available - 8: 00pm - 4: 30am and 4am - 12: 30pm Summary: The Phlebotomist collects biological specimens per written test requests from patients of all ages. The phlebotomist works in an independent manner under the general supervision of the Phlebotomy supervisor and senior phlebotomists. Job Duties: Performs positive identification of the patient using patient name and birth date. Collects biological specimens on patients of all ages Wearsappropriate PersonalProtective Equipment to obtain biological specimens. Maintains a clean work environment. Communicates instructions to the patient clearly and in a professional manner. Demonstrates the ability to work independently asappropriate. Follows written procedures for specimen collection, handlingand processing. Performs successful phlebotomy procedures in 98% of lab draws. Knows appropriate actions to take in the event of patient syncope. Interactsknowledgeablywith laboratory information system per job requirements.
