Job Description

Risser's Poultry, Inc. is hiring a Truck Driver in Lititz, PA. This is a full-time position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES Rissers Poultry Truck Drivers must be able to perform the following job duties 2.1 Inspect vehicle and required equipment to determine safe operating condition prior to departure. 2.2 Upon returning from trip, report any maintenance issues that need corrected. 2.3 Operate the vehicle in compliance with all local, state, federal, and company rules and regulations and in accordance with general accepted practices of safe driving. 2.4 Maintain records as required for compliance with all local, state, federal and company rules and regulations including driver logs except where exempted by law, vehicle inspection reports, records of fuel purchases, mileage records, load tickets, etc. All paperwork must be completed in a neat and legible format and submitted in a timely manner. 2.5 Follow directions to customer locations and if directions are in error or not efficient report suggestions and corrections to your Supervisor. 2.6 Assist in loading and unloading cargo as required. 2.7 Inspects load to ensure that cargo is secure with load bars in place, gates are closed, hydraulic trailer legs are secure, etc. 2.8 Hook and unhook trailers by raising / lowering trailer landing gear, connecting or disconnecting air / electrical lines, engaging / disengaging fifth-wheel locks, etc. 2.9 Report any damage to company owned property immediately to your Supervisor and then follow up with notification to the Maintenance Supervisor with any information which will help them access and repair the damage. 2.10 Report any damage to customer owned property immediately to your Supervisor. 2.11 Report any accidents immediately to your Supervisor even if no visible damage is evident. 2.12 Report any traffic violations or parking violations immediately to your Supervisor. 2.13 Wear proper footwear and apparel while on the job. Sneakers and other common-sense apparel that are not suitable and/or safe in a working farm environment are prohibited as are shirts which contain slogans that could be considered offensive. Drivers and their actions are representing the company to the customer and Driver appearance, apparel, footwear, attitude, etc. should place the company and the Driver in a positive and professional manner.
