What We're Looking For:

Michael Baker International is seeking an Intern to join our Financial Planning & Analysis department. Under the supervision of the Sr. Director - FP& A, the Intern - FP& A will provide support to the corporate finance teams and will aid in financial analysis and provide actionable financial information. This role will participate in all aspects of financial and operations management including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. They will contribute to the development and monitoring of strategic objectives that lead to corporate goals.

A Remote working arrangement is available .

What You'll Do:
  • Analyze and report on current financial status, key trends, and forecast implications
  • Support consolidation of budgeting and forecasting exercises, partnering with operational finance
  • Assess operational performance variance compared to the Strategic Plan, Operating Plan, and Forecast
  • Support corporate department leaders (IT, Legal, HR, Finance, Communications) with financial management of their respective functional areas
  • Assist in reporting for capital expenditure budget tracking
  • Team with Corporate Accounting team to perform monthly accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger

What You Need to Succeed:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Minimum 1 year of completed college-level coursework
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup, etc.)
  • Ability to manage sensitive and/or confidential information responsibly
  • Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Self-starter; ability to work independently on projects and tasks

Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position $20 - $28 per hour. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
