DESCRIPTIONMichael Baker International is looking for a dedicated and skilled GIS Systems Administrator to join our Engineering and Design Technologies team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the ESRI environment, collaborating with IT groups and business stakeholders to ensure a seamless and active environment. Additionally, this role involves providing guidance and technical support to the Geospatial group and working closely with the ESRI vendor.
Essential Duties: - Administer, maintain, and support enterprise GIS environments (e.g. ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Pro, etc.)
- Oversee system architecture, upgrades, patching, user management, service publishing, and performance tuning.
- Support geodatabase administration including versioning, replication, and performance optimization
- Ensure platform security, including role-based access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Act as a technical liaison for vendor relationship with Esri, Autodesk, and Bentley, ensuring alignment of GIS technology roadmaps and platform compatibility.
- Participate in contract review discussions by providing data-driven insights into software utilization, performance, and value realization.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and implement GIS system improvements, tools, and techniques that enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Develop and configure GIS applications to implement standards and procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance across projects, practices, offices, and regions.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Esri software, licensing, and related issues, resolving problems promptly to minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular utilization and performance analytics, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to improve Esri portfolio usage and business adoption.
- Remain current with the latest Esri portfolio technologies, tools, and industry trends, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our system configurations.
- Collaborate with the IT department professionals to ensure seamless integration of GIS systems with other software applications and infrastructure.
- Coordinate the training and mentoring for GIS users through enterprise portfolio consulting agreements.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience in the AEC industry.
- US Citizen or ability to work legally in the United States.
- 5+ years of CAD/BIM/GIS system management
- Proficiency in Esri, Autodesk AEC Applications, their configurations, and integrations, specifically: Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, ACC/BIM360, Infraworks, BIM Collaborate Pro, Vehicle Tracking, and ReCap Pro. GIS and Autodesk integration proficiency preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve GIS system issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with the latest GIS technologies and advancements.
CompensationThe approximate compensation range for this position is $97, 000 to $130, 000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
