Menasha Packaging is hiring a Manufacturing Electro-Mechanical Technician 2nd shift in Philadelphia, PA. This is a full-time position.

Job Description

2nd shift: 3pm-11pm

Starting pay of $35-$40 per hour, based on experience.

Benefits (United Steelworkers Union) at 90 days: medical, dental, 401K w/match, and more.

The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties, however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Design, implement, repair, maintain and improve instruments, equipment, facility and systems for industrial manufacturing service.
  • Operate computer design software and equipment to perform tasks, repairs or changes to existing or new equipment.
  • Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction and installation standards and specifications
  • Confirm completed projects and installations conform to design and installation standards and specifications.
  • Plan and research methodology and procedures to electrical projects.
  • Review and check all assigned project installation drawings for compliance with all company electrical safety programs.


Secondary Duties include all Job Skill Requirements of a Maintenance Electrician:
  • Ability to read, comprehend and, where necessary, complete:
    • A Blue Print
    • An Electrical Schematic
    • Operating and Maintenance manuals
    • A Work Order
    • Repair Parts request
    • Standard and Metric tape measure
    • Other measuring equipment:
      • A Micrometer
      • A Caliper
      • A Scale
      • A VOM (Volt/Ohm Meter)
      • Amp Meter

o MSDS forms

o Steam, Vacuum, Air, Hydraulic gauges
  • Advanced knowledge of Electrical Applications, Theory and NEC
  • Ability to perform:

Electrical P/Ms

Conduit Bending

Lighting Installations

Service Panel Installations

Transformer Installations
  • Perform electrical installation, troubleshooting and repairs:

24Volt control circuits up to 480Volts

3 Phase Motors/DC Motors

Motor Control circuits and Contactors

PLC Programmers and Ladder Logic Circuits
  • Ability to instruct helpers and less qualified personnel
  • Identify proper P/M schedules
  • Identify proper parts, materials and tools needed for specific jobs
  • Ability to set up and operate all shop equipment
  • Safety ability
    • Knows all safe work habits surrounding the job
    • Can identify and eliminate work hazards
    • Knows proper lock-out/tag out minor servicing procedures
    • Knows safe and proper clean up procedures


Knowledge Required: Basic math, reading, communication skills. Must have proper tools to perform assigned work duties.

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Internal Contacts: Close working relationship with plant personnel, Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Corrugator Maintenance Supervisor

External Contacts: Occasional contact with vendors and contracted maintenance companies.
