Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Assist the Accounting Manager with the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Drive the monthly and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of the company’s operational and financial performance.
  • Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide and reinforce internal accounting, finance and purchasing controls, aligning these with company policies.
  • Manage the workflow of accounting approval processes, including auditing and approving the work of the accounting department.
  • Support external audits by using and preparing reports and reconciliations as requested.
  • Assist in preparing financial information for monthly and year-end GAAP financials.
  • Maintain company fixed asset system and related accumulated depreciation schedules.
  • Maintain inventory cost system and related inventory activities.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements and work collaboratively to implement projects.
  • Complete special projects, audits and ad hoc analyses as required.
  • Provide backup support to other Finance team members as needed.

Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2 or more years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing organization

Other Useful Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced experience with MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP and accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate attention to detail and good record keeping skills.
  • Collaborate with other teams in the organization and be a team player.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Possess ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and personnel information.
  • Experience handling:
    • Understanding financial statement preparation (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow) for multiple entities requiring intercompany eliminations.
    • Bank reconciliations.
