Job Summary: Linde is currently seeking a highly motivated Instrumentation and Electrical (I/E) Technician to join our team in Hatfield, PA. This position reports to the Plant Manager and works closely with the Lead Tech. The I/E Tech, with minimal supervision, will help facilitate the operation, maintenance, and repair of process instrumentation and electrical systems at the Air Separation Plant. The overall objective of the I/E Tech is to ensure safe and reliable operation of the plant. Attention to detail is a must! Key Responsibilities include: - Perform calibrations, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and installation of industrial instruments including transmitters, PLC systems, meters, automatic valves, and product purity analyzers. - Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment including Motors, UPS systems, Breakers, and Transformers. - Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair of electrical systems up to 600V. - Demonstrate a good understanding of Allen Bradley PLCs. - Interpret and Maintain P& IDs and Schematic Wiring Diagrams in compliance with established SOP's, QA, and MOC policies. - Complete and document preventative maintenance activities in compliance with established instrumentation, maintenance and QA programs. - Perform purity analyzer routine calibration. - Prepare and maintain all assigned PM workorders, Procal, and analyzer calibration logs. - Plan and execute instrumentation functional testing in compliance with established procedures. - Prepare and execute projects to improve facility availability and reliability. - Through training become proficient in operating the Hatfield plant including startup, shutdown, and process troubleshooting. - Maintain critical spare parts inventory to minimize plant down time for unplanned equipment failures. - Assist in plant outage planning with regional support. - Coordinate and schedule contractor activities when required for areas of responsibility. - Prepare and execute projects to improve facility availability and reliability. - Priority personnel safety throughout all work within assigned scope. - Be on call on a rotation with the other plant technicians - 1 week per month. - Occasionally work OT as required by business demands. Available off hours via cell phone to support other plant technicians with instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting. Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent. - 2 years related experience in process control instrumentation. - Proficient with variety of I/E hand tools, meters, instrument calibration equipment, etc. - Working knowledge of electricity, AC/DC theory, electrical distribution systems, and motors. - Ability to read and understand P& ID's and schematic wiring diagrams. - Working knowledge of calibrating pressure, temperature and differential switches or transmitters. - Knowledge of control valves and actuators (Fisher, Neles-Jamesbury, Samson, Masoneilen). - Strong organization and planning skills. - Strong basic computer skills. - Written and oral communication skills. - Ability to work in both office and field environments. - Ability to perform elevated work via ladders, scaffolding and man-lifts. - Ability to excel in both a team and individual work capacity. - Available On-call on a rotation (24/7 one week per month) with ability to arrive at the facility within 1 hour if required. - Available periodically to work OT as required by business demands. - Available off hours via cell phone to support other plant technicians with instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting. Preferred Qualifications: - Associate in applied sciences degree, technical school, or equivalent apprenticeship. - Experience in Air Separation plants or similar field. - Understanding of regulatory standards and codes. - Experience in purity analyzer calibration.
