Role reports to: Sr Manager Engineering and Automation
Location: North America, United States, Pennsylvania, Lititz
Work Location: Fully Onsite
What you will do The Staff Automation Engineer will provide technical leadership and automation support to the manufacturing plant.
The position will be responsible for managing and delivering automation projects from concept to post implementation including developing project scope, user requirements, appropriation requests, time-lines and budgets, qualification plans, approving equipment specifications and documentation to meet current company, corporate and government requirements. Managing the
purchase, installation and start-up of equipment and system including adherence to compliance, cost and time schedule requirements while applying best practices tools for project management
Key Responsibilities- Develops, Reviews and approves Computer System Validation documentation as required.
- Provide technical support for automation and digitalization projects including system design and development, capital project execution, manufacturing technical support, new product introduction and process improvement initiatives with responsibility for assisting with project execution and site stakeholder alignment.
- Accountable for project capital plan, monthly and quarterly expenditures and cashflow forecast, contingencies, and scope management.
- Manages all tasks based on the responsibilities for project phases (Concept, Planning, Design, Implementation and Post-Implementation).
- Manage the project implementation team including external consultants and contractors.
- Manage projects using Project Management tools as project timeline, kickoff meetings, risk and mitigation logs, issue and action logs, decisions log, change logs and stabilization plan between others.
- Act as an area owner and be responsible for the long range financial plan (LRFP) and the integration with the 5 year asset replacement plan.
- Manages, plans and executes automation assignments generally involving complex projects.
- Performs complex assignments often requiring development of new or improved products/processes/techniques.
- Responsible for the technical support for manufacturing troubleshooting and quality investigations. Participates in development of short- and long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.Engage in collaborative partnerships with cross-functional peers and management to foster teamwork and enhance project outcomes.
- Develops, reviews and approves Computer System Validation documentation as required.
- Performs other related duties as required
What are we looking forRequired Qualifications: - A minimum BS/BA degree in a directly related field (Engineering or related)
- At least 6 years of IT or Automation experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must posses a demonstrated ability to lead both internal and external technical resources in a collaborative team
- Experience managing large capital projects adhering to a schedule and budgetary constraints
- Must possess specialised proficiency in PLC based control systems, SCADA systems and diverse electronic control systems
- Detailed understanding and adherence to ISA S88 and S95 Standards for Batch Controls and MES implementations
Preferred Qualifications- Demonstrated FPX project management results, FPX or PMP certification
- Specific experience in managing engineering teams
- Strong understanding of Isolated Computing Environments (ICE Networks)
- Ability to troubleshoot complex automation software systems
- Capable of crafting and modifying complex factory floor control systems
- Ability to work in a highly matrix-ed environment
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, B& R and Aveva knowledge preferred.
What's in it for you Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:
$110, 500.00 - $156, 000.00
This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
