What you will do

The Calibration Technician performs all responsibility necessary to trouble shoot, service, adjust, repair and maintain related equipment supporting plant facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and adjustment of calibrations equipment to improve production throughput, equipment efficiency,
  • implementation of corrective action, and calibration.
  • Able to perform routine cleaning, housekeeping and nonroutine maintenance with adherence to all safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate the calibrations plan with equipment owners and maintenance personnel.
  • Develops detailed job task lists for preventative maintenance work and planned work orders.
  • Performs equipment calibrations as directed utilizing approved procedures and standards.
  • Participates in the effort to develop and revise procedures to improve performance parameters and other deliverables of the
  • metrology lab.
  • Captures and documents all relevant calibration data.
  • Oversees activities of contract calibration providers on a variety of laboratory analytical equipment and instruments and ensures tasks are performed in compliance with approved procedures.
  • Accurately complete paperwork and electronic transactions for all documentation requirements including but not limited to CMMS transactions, paper and electronic logbooks.
  • Determines acceptability of calibration certificates based on data analysis and conformance to specifications and procedures. Reviews and approves calibration procedures to ensure technically defensible standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of the equipment, instruments and processes are maintained.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of technical software applications that enhance and drive department productivity and customer tools regarding calibration operations.
  • Participates and may take the lead in identification of improved department process and mapping.
  • Provides software and application tools to streamline the calibration process.
  • Participates in the design, prototyping and pilot testing.
  • Ability to train others in multiple areas of expertise.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma/secondary education or equivalent and/or associates degree. Certification in Instrumentation, Machinist, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics from a Technical School or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a regulated and automated manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to meet the physical demand of that this position requires: continuous lifting and/or moving from 5 to 25lbs. weight material, and frequent lifting or moving average (25-50 lbs) weight material.
  • Must have a proven ability to interact with other operators, management, and groups inside and outside of Manufacturing. Candidates must have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A proficient knowledge of Production Automation Systems (i.e. Wonderware, MES, SAP, CMMS) is required.


Desired Qualifications
  • Pharmaceutical/GMP experience preferred.
