Role reports to: Facilities Management Site Lead

Location: Lititz PA

Travel %: none

Pay: set union rate-42.67/hr after training plus shift differential

This is to work on the weekend shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday-6pm-6am

What you will do

The Boiler Utility Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the following plant-wide utility systems:
  • Steam and condensate - including boilers, DA feedwater system, condensate pumps, chemical injection systems, controls, tower and chiller filtration, etc.
  • Chilled water - including chillers, cooling towers, loop circulating pumps, controls, etc.
  • Compressed Air - including compressors, desiccant air dryers, APT control systems, etc.
  • Vacuum - including vacuum pumps and associated controls
  • High Temperature hot water - including heat exchangers, pumps, expansion tanks, nitrogen blanketing systems, etc.
  • USP Purified water - including multi-media filters, water softeners, reverse osmosis unit, pre-treatment and distribution systems, ozone generating equipment, UV lights, distribution pumps and associated controls and CDI's and EDI's oxygen generators
  • Softened water system
  • Other heating and cooling systems.
  • Tanker Unloading - unload tanker and rail cars to storage tanks, manage storage tank levels and distribution of material to production areas.
  • Adhere to all applicable guidelines, policies and procedures, as well as current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and all SOPs

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications
  • This position requires a minimum of a High School diploma / GED and either a trade-school diploma in HVAC, industrial pipefitting, or military equivalent including boiler operations.
  • Minimum of two years current experience or minimum of five year prior experience working in boiler maintenance / operations and / or a state certification working in boiler / related plant utility systems.
  • Experience in USP Purified water systems
  • A requirement will be to pass a written technical test. Specialized skills in one facet of job functions will not qualify a person for this position.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well both independently and in an empowered team environment.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job which include: moving from the heat of the boiler room to air conditioned areas and working outdoors in all weather conditions, climbing of stairs, ladders, working at heights, bending, stooping, and lifting of weights up to 50 pounds.


Desired Qualifications
  • CMMS experience preferred; experience with the CMMS Maximo is highly preferred.
  • Military experience highly valued-transitioning veterans encouraged to apply.
  • Ideal for former Navy Machinist Mates, Boiler Technicians, or Steam Plant Operators
