The Sr. Director of Lifecycle Strategy is a critical senior marketing management position leading lifecycle strategy development and implementation for our Immunology portfolio. This individual reports directly to the President of Immunology.

The Sr. Director will be responsible for developing a comprehensive plan to manage the lifecycle evolution of the Immunology portfolio including STELARA®, REMICADE®, SIMPONI ARIA® and SIMPONI® building individualized brand lifecycle strategies, enhancing value propositions for multiple partners, while competing with and preparing for biosimilar competition. The Senior Director will work closely with senior leadership in Immunology, SCG and other functions to develop lifecycle plans that continue to allow patients to start and stay on their therapy. They will work closely with multiple functions including Marketing, Strategic Customer Group, Commercial Excellence, Field teams, Medical Affairs, New Business Development, Regulatory R& D, Legal, Corporate Communications, and outside vendors to effectively develop and implement key commercial activities. The position will lead a team of marketing professionals (including GPDs, PDs and PMs) and help develop the marketing competencies of the team, and heighten the overall business understanding of the Immunology organization. The Senior Director will be responsible for staffing, training, and developing the marketing team members to succeed in their current roles and prepare them for future opportunities.

The Senior Director uses secondary data, market research, voice of customer and experience with the access environment to direct strategy development which can include, but not be limited to, access and pricing strategies, business development, new formulations, and innovative partnerships. They will coordinate customer engagements with the Strategic Customer Group and Immunology field teams. Develops unique pricing and contracting strategies in close collaboration with the VAP team. Is responsible for providing guidance into short- and long-term financial forecasts for Immunology with focus on post-LOE period. Works with external thought partners to develop and validate innovative approaches. Tracks and monitors competitive activities and regulatory submissions to develop organizational perspective on future competitive landscape. Works within regulatory guidelines to achieve goals. Work closely with senior leadership team to secure Interpersonal alignment to position the portfolio for short-term and long-term success.

Candidate must be an out of the box problem solver, proactive, strong analytically and resilient with excellent overall comprehension of the value drivers of Immunology and our customers. Must be capable of managing and prioritizing multiple commitments. Excellent leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in an unstructured environment. Interpersonal flexibility to effectively interact with a broad range of personnel. Builds effective teams that work well across functions and groups. Comfortable taking calculated risks and proposing new approaches to business opportunities. Skilled in conveying complex ideas with impact across a varied audience. Inspires confidence from Sr. Leadership.


Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS required

  • Minimum 10 years business experience (e.g., Market Access, Marketing, Management, SCG, etc)

  • 5 years demonstrated access or payer experience with proven performance is required.

  • Strong track record of people management and talent development are required.

  • Experience in securing Senior Executive support for business proposals.

  • Demonstrated ability to activate cross functional teams to deliver on business objectives.

  • Requires up to 10-20% travel, predominantly within the US.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred.

  • Pharmaceutical experience

  • Financial scenario planning experience

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs.
Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.
The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
