The Medical Director Lung Cancer will be a member of the Medical Affairs team, leading the conduct of a clinical study with amivantamab. The Medical Director will work under the leadership of the Head, Lung Therapeutic Area, with the focus on leading a medical affairs study. In addition, they will collaborate with senior R& D Clinical Leaders of lung cancer asset teams, working closely towards the goal of advancing the science and development of amivantamab. The Medical Director will be a standing member of the Medical Affairs teams,

The role requires a high-performing and energetic individual who demonstrates outstanding scientific knowledge applicable to oncology clinical research and the highest personal and ethical standards. Experience in the conduct of highly complex studies is a key area of expertise needed for this individual.

The Medical Director will act as a liaison between the company, clinical study investigators, and other external lung cancer experts to support scientific advocacy and engagement of the medical community. Importantly, they will lead the cross functional study team, including protocol development and operational execution of this new lung cancer clinical study, working with R& D and regional Medical Affairs colleagues. The Medical Director will participate in the interpretation and reporting of the results of the research, including any appropriate health authority interaction.

The Medical Director Lung Cancer will also evaluate scientific information and new ideas to assist in identifying new research opportunities, external clinical research proposals involving company products, manuscripts that are being prepared for publication, and support other clinically related medical affairs activities across our lung cancer portfolio around our pursuit of building regimens towards cure.

Qualifications

• This position requires a minimum of an advanced degree in medicine (i.e., M.D. or equivalent).
• A trained Medical Oncologist or Hematologist Oncologist, or an individual with substantial previous experience in conducting oncology clinical studies is highly desired.
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a clinical research position in an academically-based research institute or within the pharmaceutical industry is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of basic and clinical cancer or lung cancer research and its application to drug development is required.
• Experience specifically in lung cancer is highly desired, with experience working with lung cancer experts in the medical community.
• Good oral, written, and presentation skills (including report development) are essential.
• Successful work experience in a matrix team environment is preferred.
• Ability to lead a cross functional study team is required.
• A strong commitment to hematology/oncology clinical research and the ability to work well within a team setting are essential.
• This position requires up to 25% annual travel (international as well as domestic).
