We are searching for the best talent for Director, Scientific Meeting Strategy & Innovation to join our US Immunology Medical Affairs Strategic Operations team located in Horsham, PA.

Purpose:

Are you ready to embrace a distinctive opportunity that will empower you to create a meaningful influence in the field of healthcare? In this pivotal role, you will be leading a team that is at the forefront of planning and implementing impactful scientific congresses. You will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including medical directors, medical science liaisons (MSLs), R& D, and scientific communications at major scientific meetings. This role leads the development of US Medical Affairs scientific engagement activities at key Congresses across Immunology. This will include the coordination and communication of an end-to-end plan for congresses for the organization in partnership with Global R& D, Global Medical Affairs & the commercial organization.

You will be responsible for:

Directly lead a team of Congress Leads who support assigned therapeutic areas with congress strategy, planning and content.

Lead overall scientific meeting strategy in collaboration with stakeholders, including the following activities:

  • Develop and present strategic congress plans and metrics to senior management and partners.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Immunology congresses, fostering innovation and standard process.

  • Ensure a unified approach with the commercial team for all meetings.

  • Drive process improvements to adapt to evolving market needs.

  • Identify congresses for medical booths and engagement opportunities.

  • Ensure content compliance with local regulations and legal guidelines

  • Plan and implement pre-congress meetings for major congresses.

  • Provide leadership and support on-site at various congresses.

  • Vendor & Budget Management for the team

Qualifications /Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, Master' s) is required

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience highly preferred

  • Experience in scientific meeting management (advisory boards, steering committees, or investigator meetings), leading events management teams and external suppliers is required

  • People leadership experience (leading direct reports) is highly preferred

  • Deep understanding of customer engagement principles in healthcare or related fields is preferred

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle complex tasks, risk assessment & action plans, anticipate future needs & requirements, meet tight deadlines and develop strategic plans is required

  • Strong innovation track record & outside of the box thinking is highly preferred

  • Strong collaboration and influencing abilities across different levels of the organization is required

  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, along with conflict management and problem-solving expertise is required

  • Strong public speaking & experience interacting with all levels of management including executive and external partners

  • Proven skills for navigating a highly matrixed environment and forming strong relationships is required

  • Ability to work in the Horsham, PA office in a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office and 2 days remotely per week)

  • Ability to travel up to 35% domestically required
