We are seeking an experienced Director, Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) Modeling to lead and drive impactful modeling strategies that will shape the future of clinical development. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of talented scientists and collaborate across functions to drive world-class drug development programs.

The Director, QSP Modeling will play a critical role in the development and application of quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) modeling to inform clinical development strategies and optimize drug discovery. This position will demand a visionary leader with deep scientific expertise and a passion for driving innovation. This individual will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, influence key decisions, and provide strategic input to regulatory submissions.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Provide scientific and strategic leadership in the application of QSP models to guide drug development and support key product decisions across therapeutic areas such as Immunology, Oncology, and Neuroscience.
  • Lead cross-functional QSP project teams, working closely with clinical, therapeutic, and regulatory teams to ensure QSP modeling is fully integrated into program strategies and decision-making processes.
  • Mentor and develop junior scientists, promoting a culture of scientific excellence, innovation, and collaboration. Encourage growth and foster a collaborative, results-driven environment.
  • Oversee the development and application of QSP models to address critical drug discovery and development questions, providing both scientific and strategic expertise in the use of QSP and MIDD methodologies.
  • Contribute to regulatory submissions, including preparing and reviewing modeling documents, and responding to agency questions.
  • Lead interactions with external partners, including Contract Research Organizations (CROs), ensuring outsourced modeling work meets the highest scientific and quality standards.
  • Drive innovation in QSP modeling, promoting the use of cutting-edge modeling technologies and methodologies to advance drug discovery and development strategies.
  • A minimum of a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Systems Biology/Pharmacology, Mathematics, Engineering, or other disciplines related to Quantitative Pharmacology is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) modeling and simulation is required.
  • A track record of successfully leading modeling efforts that inform drug development strategies is required.
  • Proven ability to develop and apply QSP models to solve complex biological and therapeutic challenges is required.
  • Strong experience in advanced mathematical modeling techniques, with practical experience in building complex biological pathway models is required.
  • People management experience is preferred.
  • Experience mentoring Ph.D.-level scientists is required.
  • Strong record of publications is highly preferred.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a collaborative leader who can inspire and guide multi-disciplinary teams, with the ability to engage with both scientific and non-scientific stakeholders.
  • The ability to present complex scientific concepts in a clear and engaging way to diverse audiences, including regulatory agencies and senior management is required.
  • The ability to collaborate with all levels across a matrixed organization is required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position in all other U.S. locations is $160, 000 to $276, 000.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

  • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year
  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
