POSITION SUMMARY Entech Engineering, Inc. is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of electrical systems for water and wastewater facilities, municipal and industrial infrastructure, campuses, buildings, and related facilities. This position will work closely with licensed electrical engineers and multidisciplinary project teams to prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction-phase documentation. The ideal candidate combines a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles with practical design experience, attention to detail, and effective communication skills. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Electrical Design and Documentation Develop and prepare electrical designs, drawings, and schematics for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, municipal and industrial infrastructure, campuses, buildings, and related facilities. Prepare design documents including power and control plans, single-line and elementary diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel schedules, cable schedules, equipment layouts, and design details. Produce electrical and control technical specifications using applicable master specifications and CSI formats. Develop basic motor control center (MCC) elevations and control panel layouts to establish equipment size, configuration, and space requirements. Engineering Analysis and Equipment Selection Perform engineering calculations to size, select, and specify electrical and control components, including load analysis, voltage drop, fault current, short-circuit, and related system calculations. Assist with the selection and specification of transformers, switchgear, motor control equipment, generators, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, instrumentation, lighting, and related components. Evaluate electrical service requirements and coordinate with utility companies regarding new services, service modifications, capacity increases, feasibility, cost, and schedule considerations. Support the design of grounding, lightning protection, site lighting, backup power, and other electrical infrastructure systems. Controls and Instrumentation Support the development of process and instrumentation diagrams (P& IDs), control schematics, loop diagrams, and instrumentation wiring. Assist with electrical and controls design involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), remote terminal units (RTUs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and human-machine interface/operator interface terminal (HMI/OIT) systems. Apply knowledge of industrial controls for piping, process, and facility systems. Project Coordination and Construction Support Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, and process professionals to integrate electrical systems into multidisciplinary project designs. Participate in project meetings and communicate electrical and control concepts to internal teams, clients, contractors, utilities, and other project stakeholders. Support construction-phase services by reviewing contractor submittals, responding to requests for information, troubleshooting design issues, and verifying that installations align with contract documents. Conduct occasional site visits to assess existing conditions, take field measurements, prepare sketches, document systems, and observe construction activities. Quality and Code Compliance Prepare designs in accordance with applicable national and local electrical codes, client requirements, project specifications, and Entech quality-control standards. Maintain accurate project documentation and support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and design status updates. Stay current with electrical codes, industry standards, design software, and emerging technologies relevant to municipal, industrial, and facility projects.
