Description:

This position will collaborate closely with Supply Chain/Commercial and maintain complete ownership of the production schedules to meet both the requirements of our customers and also optimize the plant efficiency. The Master Scheduler will balance demands of production scheduling with materials flow within Urick and at our outside processors. Nurture and sustain trusting relationships with Customers, (Internal/External) Customer Service, and Suppliers.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Act as a key partner for timely delivery and sales projections. Improve existing systems and/or implement new systems to improve awareness of what is being produced and when it will ship. Continue to drive improvement in monitoring and reporting to improve OTD.
  • Interact closely with sales and operations to ensure accurate lead times and promise dates are provided based on plant and outside process capacities as well as developing monthly production plans that support our sales plans.
  • Work with vendors to coordinate production scheduling for outside processes including machining, heat treating, austempering, painting, and plating. This will require management and continuous improvement of existing scheduling systems to communicate requirements.
  • Generate and issue purchase orders to outside processors. Generally, blanket PO’s are used.
  • Facilitate outside process inventory transactions to reflect completions and material transfers as packing slips and invoices are received by vendors.
  • Act at the primary point of contact with outside processors to prioritize. Function as a liaison between outside process vendors and internal personnel to facilitate a timely resolution to production and quality issues.
  • Use of our Odyssey ERP system for production scheduling of in-house foundry processes including the core room, Disa molding, cleaning room (grinding), and shipping. Note your initial focus will be strong coordination of outside processing while working with foundry personnel to ensure an appropriate supply of casting supply.
  • Ensure the accuracy of shop floor and outside process transactions to ensure inventory accuracy and inventory levels.
  • Shipping Receiving Coordinator reports to Master Scheduler

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related degree.
  • 3 or more years experience scheduling and materials planning
  • Possesses advanced level proficiency in digital literacy with a “system savvy” approach.
  • Confirmed understanding of normal business software (ERP, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong analytic and decision-making skills
  • Legal Authorization to work in the U.S. Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Preferred Competencies:

  • APICS accreditation (Supply Chain Training)
  • Previous experience with Kanban pull systems

Mental Requirements:

  • Uses computers frequently; collaborate with the other employees, customers and outside visitors by telephone, mail, electronic mail, and/or in person.

Physical Requirements:

  • Works inside a foundry environment. Is required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots within the foundry.
