Job Summary: The Team Lead is a regular full-time employee within the department (operating machinery and equipment) with additional duties to assist the Department Supervisor. This position will provide basic oversight and assistance for the assigned department and the employees during times when the supervisor is unavailable and/or during off-shift times. Team Lead will ensure daily work instruction adherence, and provide general direction to employees as well as oversee and ensure timely and complete execution of on-the-job-training. Team Lead will assess and handle emergencies within their scope of responsibility and assign work to other employees within the assigned team.

Provide basic direction and feedback to the assigned department employees. Duties may include:
Ø Ensure safety and report any incidents
Ø Ensure the timely completion of OJT checklists for all employees
Ø Inspect/Monitor production of work ensuring materials and finished goods meet established quality standards
Ø Shift employees as necessary to meet production schedules
Ø Inform supervisor if a problems which cannot be resolved
Ø Inform supervisor of any rule violations
Ø Report to Department/Shift Supervisor after every shift
Ø Monitor employee transactions in ERP
Ø Solve problems and support lean initiatives to improve throughput

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: - High School Diploma/GED required
- 1+ years of manufacturing experience
- English fluency (read, write, speak); strong communication skills required (written/verbal)
- 12 months forklift experience required
- Bucket truck experience required
- Previous machine operator experience required; prior experience within department required
- Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands
- Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
- Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
- Must be familiar with department machinery, equipment and production processes, and Epicor
- Must be able to coordinate people and equipment to meet production goals
- Must be able to recognize potential problems and work toward solutions
- Ability to exercise good judgment when carrying out duties
- Computer literacy (inventory data entry and adjustments, read work orders, email, etc.)
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees while possessing demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Must have basic knowledge of all safety and HR policies
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics below are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.
- Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment). The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.
Physical and Mental Demands:
