Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the overall operation of the Round Mold Splitter and supplying good, quality product with the ability to meet deadlines in a safe manner. Additional responsibilities will include: assistance with creating SOP and other production-related documentation, inventory data-entry, and cross-training into other job functions as needed . This position requires routine attendance at departmental, production, safety, and Company meetings.

Operate the machine with minimal supervision to split/reroll material:
- Conduct a visual inspection and perform general preventive maintenance of the Round Mold Splitting area, tools, and equipment
- Set machine to required thickness & length
- Power on the machine
- Skim/trim log until proper thickness is achieved
- Place skim material in regrind bin or dumpster
- Feed splitter with properly gauged material
- Fulfill order according to production order roll length
- Place finished roll on skid/in box using appropriate equipment and label as required

Adhere to and follow all quality guidelines. Continually check the product for quality throughout the manufacturing process.

Operate hoist and forklift truck to lift/transport raw materials and finished products while adhering to all power industrial equipment rules and safety requirements

Maintain clean work environment by wiping down machine and cleaning work area with air hose after each order; operate grinding machine as necessary; maintain machine by changing blades as required, making small repairs and reporting any maintenance issues immediately to supervisor and maintenance department

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School Diploma/GED or 4 years of machine operator/manufacturing experience required
- English fluency (read, write, speak)
- Forklift certification/experience desired
- Previous manufacturing experience required; Previous machine operator experience preferred
- Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands
- Read and understand units of measure
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Demonstrated comfort with data entry and basic computer skills; ERP experience preferred
- Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
- Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
- Able to safely perform related physical requirements/demands of the role

- Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment) . The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.
