Job Summary: Lead a ll aspects of production for the assigned departments(s). Act as primary liaison with overall communication, coordination, problem resolution, and process improvement. Assign duties, coordinate activities and manages performance of Production Supervisors. Continuously strives to improve all aspects of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale. Analyze and resolve work problems or assists supervisors in solving work problems. Acts to assist the Plant Manager in key facility directives and steps in with facility oversight in the Plant Manager's absence.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acts as the primary point of contact/liaison with all other departments regarding communication, coordination, resolution, and improvement.
- Organizes and coordinates process throughout assigned departments to minimize waste.
- Assures proper shop floor execution. Takes action to correct course when needed. Acts as a manufacturing liaison to coordinate cross departmental course correction with other leadership.
- Creates safety culture through adherence to OJT training requirements, annual training, and enforcing adherence to established safe practices. Active participation in the facilities safety teams, monthly auding process, and proactive safety project process.
- Responsible for ensuring the Standard Work documentation is up-to-date and followed. This includes taking action to correct routine audit deficiencies and customer quality complaints.
- Manages manpower requirements/needs for the assigned department(s) Works directly with Department Manager(s) to optimize facility staffing levels and cross training opportunities to maximize staffing utilization within the facility.
- Develops a highly aligned leadership team dedicated to executing the principles consistent with ECORE's vision and mission. This includes secession planning.
Works with Production Planning on planning and scheduling requirements for the department and follows up performance against estimates. Reacts and adjusts accordingly to meet customer demand. Recommends new policies or procedures as necessary. Takes active ownership and facilitate over cross departmental items to ensure consistency and adherence.
- Actively involved in the support and approval process for developing process specification, design standards, lean events, and new material testing.
Provides input to the annual budget and responsible for executing to budget within departments of direct oversight. Works directly with the plant manager on overall site budget to include annual cost savings targets and execution. Co-leads the facilities strategic Capital Planning vision and execution. Administers personnel functions, including recruiting, review and approval of job descriptions and salary classifications, and selection and placement of personnel. Acts as the direct back up to the Plant Manager. Steps in to fill all duties of the Plant manager when needed or as assigned. Assists Plant Manager with strategic planning and execution.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry work experience required.
- 5+ years of supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing/production environment required.
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office required, ERP required)
- Excellent management and leadership skills in order to effectively manage and interact with peers and subordinates.
- Proven commitment to quality and safety within the workplace
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with lean manufacturing required.
- Lean Six Sigma quality training or equivalent continuous improvement experience preferred.

- Office Environment: This position may operate in an office environment and is not expected to adverse environmental conditions.
- Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment). The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.
