Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the overall operation of the Laminator Machine and supplying good, quality product with the ability to meet deadlines in a safe manner. Additional responsibilities will include: assistance with creating SOP and other production related documentation, inventory data-entry and cross-training into other job functions as needed. This position requires routine attendance to departmental, production, safety and Company meetings.

Set-up, operate, troubleshoot and make necessary adjustments to the Laminator machine following established procedures and guidelines with minimal supervision to laminate material.
- Conduct a visual inspection and perform general preventive maintenance of the laminator
- Power on machine
- Gather all necessary materials
- Set-up machine per product specific set-up sheet
- Using computer station and work panel controls, select appropriate options to include adhesive, air chucks, splice complete, etc. Refer to SOP for step-by-step setup procedures for use of computer station and work panel controls.
- Feed/jog material and web through machine or splice if material is already on machine
- Go to adhesive area and place adhesive in front of IR's
- Set temperature and monitor until it gets to the required temp
- Begin running machine
- Web bottom layer at IR station
- Turn nip "on"
- Increase speed and monitor tension at the IR station and cooling conveyor area
- Turn on waterjet and begin trimming
- Check tension on waterjet based on thickness of material
- Remove material from machine
- Stage rolls for put-away using appropriate equipment
- Once laminator process is complete, print production ID labels and place on material

Operate fork truck to transport raw materials and finished products while adhering to all power industrial equipment rules and safety requirements

Maintain clean work environment by cleaning belt from adhesive, IR's and work area as needed; maintain machine as required by changing blades as required and report any maintenance issues immediately to supervisor and maintenance department

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 4 years of machine operator/manufacturing experience preferred; 12- months manufacturing or machine operating experience required; department experience preferred
- English fluency (read, write, speak); strong communication skills required (written/verbal)
- Forklift experience preferred
- Cross-training within department/location will be required as part of position
- Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands
- Read and understand units of measure
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Demonstrated comfort with data entry and basic computer skills; ERP experience preferred
- Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
- Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
- Able to safely perform related physical requirements/demands of the role

- Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment) . The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.
Physical and Mental Demands:
