Job SummaryThe Thin Film Coating department designs, develops, and applies optical thin films to various substrate materials. The thin films enhance the optical performance of the substrates and allow customers to customize optical properties at each system level component.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our Thin Film Coating team for Summer 2026. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in business system layout, data analytics, benefits of synergies, and work load planning and leveling. You will work alongside industry professionals, and contribute to meaningful projects that support our team and company objectives.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities- Execute and analyze business system reports
- Review analytics with full time staff and work to improve accuracy, synergies, and data integrity
- Oracle business system, Power BI, and MS Excel tools and functions will be used for research and corrections
- Team collaboration, data entry, reporting, etc.
- A mid summer and final report of results, learning experience and opportunities for improvement are required
- Support for production leadership day-to-day activities will account for ~ 20% of your time each day
Education & Experience- Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Financial Management curriculum students will likely be the most successful
- Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date.
Skills & Other Requirements- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed.
- Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and time management.
- Mid-level Ms Excel knowledge is required (pivot tables, basic formulations, lookups)
- Internship Duration: 10 - 14 weeks.

Working Conditions- This role will be based on-site in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania.
- Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.
- Must be able to wear clean room attire including gloves, smocks, and hairnets
Physical Requirements- Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.
- Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
- Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
