Summary:

The Senior Director, Barber Behavioral Health at the Barber National Institute is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the full continuum of behavioral health services, with a particular emphasis on Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS). This position will provide strategic, and operational oversight for programs serving children and families with complex behavioral needs across various settings including home, school, and community environments.

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Programs, the Senior Director will lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, person-centered behavioral health care. They will guide program strategy, tactical plan development, staff supervision, training, regulatory compliance, and performance outcomes while driving innovation and growth for Barber Behavioral Health. A strong emphasis will be placed on high quality collaboration with other service lines to ensure services align with state requirements (i.e. OMH/OASAS programs) as well as internal goals for clinical excellence and engagement.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (advanced degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in behavioral health, healthcare, outpatient clinics, or human services required.
  • Proficient knowledge of OMH/OASAS regulations and behavioral health funding structures.
  • Experience with program development, quality assurance, and budget management.

A typical day-to-day may include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and empowering managers and staff across all behavioral health services.
  • Developing and executing strategic plans for service growth, innovation, and excellence in care.
  • Supporting the clinical leadership team in defining and achieving objectives.
  • Overseeing program development and new ventures within Barber Behavioral Health.
  • Collaborating with leadership and maintaining external relationships to align initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Directing financial planning and budget monitoring for behavioral health programs in consultation with the financial department.
  • Monitoring program revenue and expenses and adjusting as needed to maintain the financial viability of the programs through productivity and census management.
  • Leading the contract renewal process and seeking new opportunities for program revenue growth and development.
  • Collaborating across BNI service lines to maintain high quality and consistent care.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, accreditation, licensure, and funding regulations.
