Overview
As an Assistant Group Supervisor at Happy Hearts Child Care, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the development of preschool children with autism, intellectual disabilities, and behavioral health challenges. You’ll help create a nurturing, engaging, and structured environment that promotes independence, social skills, and emotional well-being. This role also supports the childcare team by maintaining classroom operations and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations in the absence of the Group Supervisor or Director.

What You’ll Have
- A high school diploma or GED, plus one of the following:
- 30 college credits in early childhood education or related fields
- 600+ hours of secondary training in childcare
- 15 college credits and 1 year (1250 hours) of experience with children
- Completion of a post-secondary training curriculum
- 2 years (2500 hours) of experience with children
- Knowledge of childcare principles, creative activities, and the importance of play.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and recognize when assistance is needed.
- No licensure or certification required.
A Typical Day May Include
- Leading classroom activities and maintaining routines in the absence of the Group Supervisor.
- Supervising children during meals, playtime, rest, and excursions.
- Communicating with families and reviewing daily notes.
- Observing and reporting children’s behavior and developmental progress.
- Supporting recreational and educational activities, including playground supervision.
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
- Participating in team meetings and relaying instructions to other staff.
- Attending required in-service training sessions.
