About the Role

Join our team at the Whitehall Cement Plant as a Quality Control Technician. In this role, you will fulfill three core cement manufacturing quality functions on an alternating week-by-week basis:

  1. Chemical laboratory testing

  2. Physical laboratory testing

  3. Production shift control

You will be responsible for reliable, accurate testing of raw materials, plant feed streams, and sixteen finished product types while maintaining laboratory equipment in optimal working condition. This position works closely with Production and Sales teams to deliver a customer-driven product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze material samples to determine physical and chemical properties using a variety of procedures and laboratory instruments to ensure compliance with standards.

  • Record and review test findings and results using databases, spreadsheets, and digital communication tools.

  • Support customer service initiatives by troubleshooting material quality issues or complaints.

  • Practice and encourage core organizational values through continuous learning, self-development, and positive peer engagement.

  • Maintain a firm commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies across all work environments, actively promoting a culture of safety.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience: 0 – 2 years of related experience (entry-level candidates welcome).

  • Skills: Strong mathematical aptitude, keen attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.

  • Computer Proficiency: Competency in data entry, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Field of Study: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.

  • Software: Experience with SAP is a plus.

Equipment & Operational Requirements:

  • Operational use of scales, compression machines, sieve shakers, laboratory ovens, aggregate decant machines, and aggregate splitters.

  • Valid driver's license (driving a vehicle on-site may be required).

Safety & Physical Requirements:

  • Candidates must strictly adhere to all site safety protocols and proper use of approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators.

  • Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal contacts the face to pass mandatory qualitative and quantitative fit testing standards.
