About the Role:

Do you consider yourself a seasoned professional with superior risk management capabilities? Are you passionate about leading a global risk management team, working on complex policies and claims, and managing a sophisticated portfolio of coverage lines?

Alcoa is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Risk Management and Insurance to join its Insurance Risk Management team. This role will appeal to a seasoned professional with strong technical, operational, and organizational skills, who possesses a broad range of insurance placements and claims management experience.

The ideal candidate will be a results-driven team player with proven leadership and mentoring skills, who brings deep industry knowledge to this unique opportunity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the Global Insurance Risk management team and Joint Venture partners, in the execution of Alcoa’s business strategy.
  • Design, negotiate and implement all relevant insurance programs tailored to company strategies and exposures, which include but not limited to: GL, property, WC, EPL, D& O, cyber, cargo, marine, auto.
  • Lead the annual renewal process with both incumbent and prospective insurers, and effectively communicate and present to senior management.
  • Engage and collaborate with insurance brokers, service providers and internal team members regarding all insurance-related activities.
  • Collaborate with Alcoa captive personnel on the annual renewal, governance compliance and claims management.
  • Participate in crisis management and tactical meetings related to business continuity to ensure insurance and risk management alignment.
  • Oversight of Workers’ Compensation, loss prevention engineering, and other matters as it relates to the organizations risk profile.

What you can bring to this role:

  • 10+ years’ experience in the insurance/risk management industry with knowledge from one or more areas such as: corporate insurance, commercial policy review and/or claims management. A background in manufacturing, energy and/or mining/metals is preferred.
  • Education requirements include applicants with degrees in business, insurance, risk management and engineering or similar field(s). Preference will be given to candidates holding or pursuing risk management designations such as CIP, CRM and ARM.
  • Experience with a wide range of policy coverages including contract review, negotiations, broker relationship management and oversight of annual policy renewal(s).
  • Experience managing large complex claims and related parties as part of a large, complex organization.
  • Technical knowledge to use a variety of Risk Management systems provided by brokers and third parties.
