Role Overview

As Maintenance Manager, you’ll take the lead in keeping Sherwood operating smoothly, safely, and sustainably—inside and out. This is a hands on role where no two days are the same. You’ll manage all maintenance activity, oversee contractors, respond to issues promptly, and make sure the property always looks and functions its best. You’ll lean into Sherwood’s values by stepping up, solving problems, and finding practical, efficient ways to support our team and deliver a great guest experience.

This is a full-time position with a minimum guaranteed hours of 40 per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all maintenance operations—preventative, reactive, and emergency—to keep the property running smoothly with minimal disruption to guests.
• Manage contractors and compliance schedules, ensuring all plant, equipment, and essential services are safe, serviced, and up to standard.
• Maintain and improve maintenance systems, logs, and routines so issues are identified early and recurring problems are reduced.
• Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, track costs, and support planning for routine and non routine repairs and upgrades.
• Lead by example—supporting the team, building positive working relationships, and assisting other departments when required.
• Ensure all health, safety, and building compliance obligations are met, including BWOF, fire systems, and operational procedures.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Minimum of one year’s experience in maintenance management, ideally in hotels, property, or facilities.
• A hands on operator with strong practical skills across general repairs (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.) and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
• Proactive, organised, and systems focused—comfortable planning ahead and preventing issues before they escalate.
• A clear, calm communicator who can collaborate well with colleagues, manage contractors, and support the wider Sherwood team.
• Reliable and commercially aware, with an understanding of budgets, asset performance, and cost control.
• Someone who lives Sherwood’s values—community minded, innovative, and ready to step up and take ownership.
