LyLo Queenstown is a busy property with high occupancy year round, 192 pods, 37 private rooms, self service F& B offering and internal housekeeping.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a General Manager to lead LyLo Queenstown and bring our brand promise of fun, flexibility, and exceptional guest experiences to life in one of New Zealand’s most iconic destinations. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is all about driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and a vibrant team culture.
At LyLo Queenstown, you’ll oversee all aspects of a property designed for modern travellers – from our social, design‑led shared and private accommodation to energetic communal spaces that connect guests with Queenstown’s adventure‑driven spirit. Your remit includes guest services, property operations, F& B activation, financial performance, and upholding LyLo’s brand standards to ensure the Queenstown property continues to set the benchmark for innovative, social accommodation in Aotearoa.
Situated just minutes from the town centre and surrounded by mountains, lakes, and year‑round adventure, LyLo Queenstown attracts a mix of international explorers, digital nomads, and domestic travellers seeking great design, great value, and great vibes. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hotel or hospitality leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, experience‑driven environment and wants to shape the next chapter of a brand that’s redefining travel in New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage LyLo Queenstown’s day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and operational efficiency.
• Drive revenue growth and market share across rooms and F& B.
• Deliver strategic plans and implement brand standards, sustainability initiatives, and digital innovation.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of empowerment and inclusion.
• Ensure compliance, safety, and governance across all operations.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and identify opportunities for growth.
• Promote LyLo’s unique brand personality and create memorable guest experiences.
What We’re Looking For
• Proven experience as a hospitality leader (General Management, Hotel Management, Venue Management, Department Management) within hotels or hospitality.
• Experience leading teams diverse teams of 15+ within a customer facing environment
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to deliver financial results.
• Inspirational people leader with a focus on coaching and talent development.
• Deep understanding of hospitality operations and customer experience.
• Passion for the LyLo brand and creating vibrant, social spaces.
• Ability to drive transformation, sustainability, and digital innovation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
