About the Role Sherwood is a MICHELIN-starred, sustainably focused restaurant in the heart of Queenstown, celebrated for its garden-to-table philosophy — with most ingredients grown in our own organic garden or foraged locally in Central Otago. We're looking for an experienced waitstaff member who genuinely loves food and beverage — someone who can speak confidently to our menu and tell the story behind our locally sourced, hyper-seasonal produce.

This role requires availability across evenings and weekends, as these are our peak service periods, and offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment alongside a passionate hospitality team.

This is a permanent full-time position with a minimum guaranteed hours of 30 per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, engaging and memorable guest experiences
• Take and manage food and beverage orders accurately
• Speak confidently to our menu, wine list and garden-to-table produce
• Provide genuine, informed menu and beverage recommendations
• Maintain strong product knowledge across food, wine and beverages
• Ensure tables are set, cleared and maintained to a high standard
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house team
• Uphold hygiene, safety and service standards

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar premium, fast-paced restaurant
• Genuine passion for food and beverage — you love talking about what's on the plate and in the glass
• Strong knowledge of, or real curiosity about, local and seasonal produce
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive in a busy, high-energy environment
• Positive attitude and strong team focus
• Availability for evenings and weekends
