Role Overview
We’re looking for a Barista who loves great coffee, great food, and great people. At Sherwood, everything we do is rooted in sustainability, creativity, and genuine hospitality. You’ll be crafting beautiful espresso beverages using quality ingredients, engaging warmly with guests, and contributing to the relaxed, community‑focused atmosphere that makes Sherwood special.

This is a part‑time role with a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
• Welcome guests with warm, relaxed, attentive service
• Prepare espresso‑based beverages to Sherwood’s quality standards
• Operate and maintain espresso machines and coffee equipment
• Grind beans, steam milk, and monitor brewing variables for consistency
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace
• Present bills and process payments accurately
• Monitor and replenish coffee beans, syrups, and supplies
• Stay informed about menu offerings and seasonal specials
• Upsell or recommend items based on guest preferences
• Support the wider restaurant team during service
• Assist with opening, closing, and general service duties
• Work flexibly across evenings, weekends, and holidays

Who We Are Looking For
• NZQA‑certified Barista qualification
• Previous barista experience preferred
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills
• Calm, reliable, and able to work under pressure
• Adaptable, positive, and open to learning
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
• Open to working holiday candidates
