What you'll do at Tosoh Quartz.
  • Utilize tools and equipment (ovens, oxygen/hydrogen torches, lathes, vacuum chucks, etc.) in the fabrication of complex and delicate glass products specific to the semiconductor industry.
  • Perform free-hand glasswork as required.
  • Work from well-documented work instructions, production diagrams and/or blueprints on assignments where dimensions and tolerances may be difficult to obtain and maintain.
  • Aid in the design of tools, jigs, fixtures, and set-ups for specialized fabrication assignments.
  • Provide technical advice regarding glass fabrication techniques.
  • Document all time and material movements in ERP.


Who you are.

Minimum requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience manufacturing quartz materials in a scientific or industrial glassblowing environment.
  • Able to perform complex glass working tasks, including welding and glassblowing, in the shaping and forming of quartz materials.
  • Experience with various quartz fabrication equipment such as lathes, hydrogen torches, annealing ovens, and automation robots to fabricate complex quartz products.
  • Able to demonstrate precision welding skills.
  • Able to interpret technical drawings, specifications, work instructions, and/or blueprints.
  • Experience training early career glassblowers in using established methods and processes.
  • Experience in a manufacturing production environment where consistency and repeatability are key.

We'd love to see:
  • Experience working with hydrogen.
  • Experience following LEAN methodologies in a production environment.
